Date I changed it + why I liked it L3

this is be the first jam here without some kind of backstory to it, weird. i found this a few days ago looking through some random rym lists and found the title of the ep (a lobster, bee, and cicada walk into a bar and find god) incredibly funny with an equally quirky cover to go with it. going into a 4-way split ep is always a gamble since usually the only thing connecting the tracks is a common genre or theme but i always like seeing how everyone does their own thing. i liked all the tracks on the thing but this one GAPPED the rest by a lot
gingerbee goes SO HARD with their sound, having that midwest emo sorta melody & power in the first chorus, that lo-fi sound across the track as well as the middle uke part you get from the bedroom pop aspects, and the SCREAMO god i love when people mix screamo with midwest emo (hey that rhymes) the melody mixed with the passionate noisy-loud is always so good. gingerbee did such a good job making my ears bleed in the best way possible
While I've heard this song before, originally finding the album through dsco's great osu! map in 2022, the latter track on the set appeared in my youtube reccomended (which has recently gone to shit) and i figured i'd give the album another listen on my drive to work. and DAMN the chaotic unpredictable samples really hit in this track. It's a crazy mix of random shit going on with breaks for your mind to focus on a tempo for a few seconds. Not a ton i can really explain just give it a listen for yourself :3
As a half-birthday, half-graduation gift my mother took me to Austin to see a record pressing factory but we had way more days than just the tour so we stopped by a few sights and, get this, record stores!! I picked up a ton of records, some being gifts from the plant (thanks Gold Rush). I've been slowly getting through them but was reminded by this banger I ranked a few months ago on osu. It's still a banger and I'll always love returning to it!
This is an alright song I was just thinking of "what music did I really like for two days" while making this site and it was this song. Was introduced to me by liku asking me to nominate it on osu! and I really enjoyed the chorus but it kinda faded on me as I realized the mixing got grating on my ears and the rest of the song wasnt like the chorus. 7/10
